A student-led protest for gun control and common sense gun laws, led by survivors of the MSD High School shooting, that occurred on March 24, 2018. It's estimated that over 800,000 people marched in Washington, accompanied by thousands of other sister marches across the country.

Parkland, Florida Shooting

Santa Fe High School Shooting
Even more recent than Parkland, on May 18, 2018, a student opened fire in an art classroom at Santa Fe High School in Texas, killing 10 people. This shooting was yet again another tragedy that affected many.

Connecting Columbine to Recent Shootings
Columbine was one of the first modern mass school shootings; 13 people were killed and it shocked many, sparking debates over gun control and teenage internet use, among other things. Many shooters in recent times have shown evidence of being inspired by the Columbine shooters. This New York Times article delves into the legacy of the Columbine shooting and how it connects to more recent ones, such as Virginia Tech or Santa Fe.
